Shooting with Miniature Staging
Its an interesting exercise to shoot miniatures on a staged set. You can use anything that you can find around you as a prop. From wooden logs to kitchen spices, you can use almost anything to make your scene dramatic. Let’s see how I shot the above image “Grow Up”.
I started with the tree. Took some cleaning fabric and dipped it in green water color. Shaped a metal wire to form a tree and covered it with play-dough to give it thickness. The cleaning fabric was pasted on to the tree using glue.
Created the sand by mixing some mustard powder with a pinch of red food color. Sprinkled some oregano near the tree to mimic fallen leaves.
Tip: Shoot from the eye-level of the miniature/toy to fake a realistic perspective.
